ONLINE PLAY

Just a few places to play EAW online. (The game uses DirectPlay6.)

WRAPPER PROGRAMS

These programs (DX; DirectDraw Wrappers) correct the weird colors within the menu screens of EAW. They also allow you to avoid the 7217 graphical error message and menu screen tearing. Use with Win2000, WinXP and WinVista, some have possible use in Win7 and Win8.1/Win10.

  • D3DWindower 1.88 - Pass through type (designed for XP but works with Vista,7,8)
  • DDWrapper - for DirectX Mode. Very small "program" - Pass through type.
  • DxWnd - for DirectX Mode (Works with Win10 and possibly Vista/Win7/Win8)
  • DXWrapper - (Not sure it even works with EAW, never tired this one)
  • nGlide - for 3Dfx Glide video mode (translates back to D3D, restores Horizon Fog.)
  • dgVoodoo - for 3Dfx Glide and DirectX video mode.

WEIRD COLOR MENU SCREEN REGISTRY FIXES (No wrapper required)

If you only need to correct the messed up colored DirectDraw menu screens, these programs will help without having to use a Wrapper program. For WinVista and Win7 use.

EMULATION
  • EAW On Linux! - This web page is done up to help you play EAW on Linux. How to setup and run EAW on Linux! with Downloads. Also MPS Original Flight School information.
  • DOSBox Emulator - Run community made DOS tools in Win2000, WinXP, VISTA, Win7/8.1/10.

JOYSTICK / DEVICE COMBINERS

These programs / drivers allow you to combine more than one controller into one Device ID, by way of a virtual device. Useful for EAW v1.0-v1.2, FXEXE and when the source code modifications don't cooperate with your devices.
Of course these programs do a lot more on top of just combining your controls.

COMPATIBLE GAMES

Some Elements of these Games are Compatible with EAW, primarily some of the 3DZ models and 'skins'. (EAW was built off of the 1942 PAW code.)
